One thing we can be sure of is that Washington County, and the Northwest Arkansas region as a whole, is going to see a lot of growth and change over the next several years. Washington County’s next Judge will need to meet that change head-on, and shepherd tremendous county growth. This will ensure that the county continues to deliver the essential services county residents depend, while also harnessing the growth for the benefit of all the county citizens!
One of the major skill sets for the County Judge is to be able to listen to elected officials at every level of local government. By coordinating and working together, the county will be able to partners with municipalities, and their leaders, to ensure resources are being expended in the most efficient ways possible for every citizen of Washington County.
We also cannot forget that many of Washington County’s citizens live in unincorporated areas, outside of any municipalities’ limits. My family and I serve as a good example. Our closest elected officials are those that serve at the county level. We cannot forget that we directly serve these citizens, and their needs should always be considered even with the reality of our ever expanding municipal populations.
