Working with Rural Fire Departments
In my service on the Quorum Court, as well as living in an unincorporated community, I can truly value the exceptional volunteer-based service that our rural firefighters provide. These men and women are often on the frontlines of their community needs, and many times serve to offer help to those in need. As County Judge, I will support our rural fire departments by:
Continue supporting the 18 volunteer departments with county funds.
Explore and bring grant opportunities that will help purchase tools and necessary equipment needed to continue providing their services.
Work to ensure they keep the autonomy that allows them to serve their communities as they see fit.
